Lynchburg Ultra Series 2001

The 2001 LUS will include the following races:
1. Holiday Lake 50K              Feb. 17        Time Limit:   7.5 hours
2. Promise Land 50K              Ap.  28        Time Limit:  10.0 hours
3. MMTR 50 Miler                 Oct. 20        Time Limit:  12.0 hours

Runners who complete all three races within the time limit will be
eligble for a very special award.  Montrail, Patagonia, Frank Villa, and
Conquest will be helping sponsor the series. We are talking with
Patagonia with the hope of getting vests for those who finish all three
races and having the names of the 3 races embroidered on the front or
something like that. The overall male and female winner of the series
and overall master's male and female will receive Montrail shoes and
Patagonia running gear.

The cost to participate in the series is $20 prior to Feb. 17, $25 prior
to Ap. 28 and $30 thereafter. The idea is to get everyone entered
before the 1st race of the series so that we can start working on the
finsiher's award.   These awards will be presented at the banquet on
Saturday night October 20 after the MMTR 50 Miler.   The costs of the
series is in addition to the entry fees for each race in the series.

P.S.   The application for the Promise Land 50K is not ready at the
present time.   We have mapped out the course but we will have to do some
trail work to get it open.  In fact, we are planning to do trail work on
the course on Friday, Nov. 24, the day after Thanksgiving.  We could use
some help if you are available.   I will let you know later if we are for
sure working on the trail that day
