2008 Ultrarunner.net Race Series Presented byRules

The 2008 Ultrarunner.net Race Series Presented by Fuel Belt does not require 
any additional fees or entries. This is the 5th year. Runners just enter the individual races. The 
individual race directors will provide the series director with information about 
the runners to calculate the runners points and age division. The runners age will 
be based on their age on the last race in the series(Helen Klein Ultra Classic). 
Runners must complete at least 5 of the races in the series and the score from the 
highest 7 out of 11 races will count.

Age Groups: 29 & Under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over. 

Scoring: The series scoring system will be based on points scored by race distance
and runners performance. The winning time from a race(in minutes) will be divided 
by the runners time(in minutes) and then multiplied by the race distance(in miles).
Points are scored only in races that are at least 50K in length. Runners
must run in at least 5 races with the highest 7 point scores totaled. Also, only 
one 100 mile race will count(highest point total). If a runner runs 2 100 mile races,
both races will count towards the 5 race minimum. The Lake of the Sky Trail Run 50K
will have double points available(64 possible). It will only count as one race.

If there is a tie, the following tie breakers will apply:

1) The runner who has completed the most series will be placed ahead

2) If the runners have run against each other, the higher placing runner is 
   placed ahead.

3) If a tie still exists, a coin toss will we used to decide the winner.
   

Prizes: The prizes(over $30,000)will be donated by our sponsors. There will be 
Overall Men's and Women's awards and prizes three deep. There will be age division 
awards and prizes three deep. Overall winners are eligible for age division awards.

pair of tickets to a day cruise from Lake Tahoe Cruises.($550 value each)
 
Third Place Winners-will receive a $150 in Gift Certificates from Fleet Feet Sports
 

All age division winners a pair of Inov-8 Shoes ($90 value) 
and all 6 Overall winners receive a pair of Haber Vision Sunglasses ($155 value)

2nd Place- Fanny Packs from Fuel Belt valued $40

3rd Place- Drop Bags from Gnass Gear valued $25
