1.                  No special entry fees for the race series.  No obligations.  Finish races and you score points. There are six races in the series.  You do not have to finish all the races. You have to finish a minimum of two races.    If you do run all six races, only your highest four scores will count in the series. If more races are added later, the maximum number of scores counted will be one less than the number of races in the race series.

2.                  Your age group for the series, will be the age you are on the last race you run in the series.   The race directors and the data keeper for the series, will only have the information from your individual race application to gather this information.

4.         Age Groups:   29 & Under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Over.

5.         Scoring System:  The scoring will be based on performance and distance and of course participation.  The winning time for the race will be divided by the runner’s time and that percentage will be multiplied by 31 for the 50KM races and by 50 if you run the PCT 50 Mile race.  If the McDonald Forest course is 32-33 miles, then that number will be the multiplier.

For Example:  Dana Bandy ran 5:27:14 at the McDonald Forest race.  The winner Scott Jurek ran 4:10:33. Scott Jurek’s score for that race would be 31 points.   Dana Bandy’s score for that race would be  250 minutes (Jurek’s time) divided by 327 minutes (Bandy’s time) = .7645  times   31 = 23.7 points.

6.         Prizes:   Each race director will be contributing some of the race proceeds to the race series.  The age group winners will be determined at the McKenzie River Trail race and will be awarded gift certificates to REI.  At least 10 certificates will be awarded for the ten age group categories.

7.                  The race series is a way to encourage some friendly competition, and appreciation for the runners who participated in the races we have organized.  Have Fun!
